On Wednesday, two of the great teams known in the Eastern Conference meet in New York. Rangers host the Montreal Canadiens.
In the last three years, the two teams have met for nine times and with that nine meetings Rangers already earned an edge of 6-2-1. While Canadiens although won at the last two games failed to set a very good edge as the wins took place at home. Now, for SBG Global, early Hockey betting has everyone taking Rangers at Home.
For its last five games in total, Montreal won four games including the 6-5 win over Florida on Sunday. The Canadiens, in their last eight games earned seven points. Since the well known starter Carey Price is in injury and therefore Jaroslav Halak the backup goalie is anticipated to make a way to have the start for Montreal.
Coach Guy Carbonneau of the Canadiens: “We were able to get two points for him, which I think earlier in the season, when he was playing well, we were not able to get, but in the situation that he’s in right now he needs to be a little sharper.” Against the Rangers, Halak is 1-2-0 with a 3.35 GAA in four career starts.
This year, the Rangers are 14-7-2 at home and Henrik Lundqvist the goaltender, at home, has a 2.38 GAA and a .915 save percentage. In wins, the said goaltender is third in the league. Versus the Canadiens he is 7-3-1 with a 2.76 GAA in 12 career starts. On Monday, he is coming off his shutout of the season which is his first, a 4-0 win in defense from Pittsburgh.
In their last significant and now most remembered four trips to Madison Square Garden, Montreal is 0-3-1.
