2010 Preliminary World Cup Rosters for Japan and Cameroon

The 30-man preliminary World Cup rosters have been announced for each of the 32 participating teams in this year’s World Cup, which is being held in South Africa.  The teams will only have 23 players when moving forward to the Cup and the cut will be on June 1.  The following are the rosters for Japan as well as Cameroon.  The two teams will play against each other for their opening game on June 14.

Japan’s goalkeepers on the 30-man roster include Eiji Kawashima from Kawasaki Frontale, Seigo Narazaki from Nagoya Grampus and Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi from Jubilo Iwata.

Forwards include Takayuki Morimoto from Catania, Shinji Okazaki from Shimizu S-Pulse, Kishi Yano from Albirex Niigata, Yoshito Okubo from Vissel Kobe and Keiji Tamada from Nagoya Grampus.

Defenders for Japan are Atsuto Uchida from Kashima Antlers, Daiki Iwamasa from Kashima Antlers, Marcus Tulio Tanaka from Nagoya Grampus, Yasuyuki Konno from FC Tokyo, Yuichi Komano from Jubilo Iwata and Yuto Nagatomo from FC Tokyo.

Midfielders for Japan include Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow, Makoto Hasebe from VfL Wolfsburg, Yuki Abe from Urawa Reds, Yasuhito Endo from Gamba Osaka, Daisuke Matsui from Grenoble, Kengo Nakamura from Kawasaki Frontale, Junichi Inamoto from Kawasaki Frontale and Shunsuke Nakamura from Yokohama F Marinos.

As for the preliminary World Cup roster for Cameroon – it is as follows:

Goalkeepers include Amour Patrick Tignyemb from Bloemfontein Celtic, Guy Roland Ndy Assembe from Valenciennes, Carlos Kameni from Espanyol and Hamidou Souleymanou from Kayserispor.

Forwards are Jacques Zoua from FC Basel, Achille Webo from Mallorca, Rostand Dorge Kouemaha from FC Brugge, Mohamadou Idrissou from Freiburg, Samuel Eto’o from Inter Milan, Achille Emana from Betis, Eric Choupo-Moting from FC Nuremberg and Vincent Aboubakar from Coton Sport.

Defenders for Cameroon are Rigobert Song from Trabzonspur, Nicolas Nkoulou from Monaco, Makadji Boukar from Al Nahdha, Stephane Mbia from Marseille, Geremi Njitap from Ankaragucu, Aurelien Chedjou from Lille, Gaetan Bong from Valenciennes, Sebastien Bassong from Tottenham, Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Tottenham and Jean Patrick Abouna Ndzana from Astres de Douala.

Midfielders include Alexandre Song from Arsenal, Landry Nguemo from Celtic, Patrick Mevoungou from Canon Sportif de Yaounde, Joel Matip from Schalke, Georges Mandjeck from Kaiserslautern, Jean II Makoun from Lyon, Enoh Eyong Tarkang from Ajax and Marcel Ndjeng from Augsburg.
