The Life of a Professional Roulette Cheat

I have written many articles on roulette over the years and also on cheating at that particular form of the game. It is really no big secret that roulette is vulnerable when approached from numerous angles. The intervention of the CCTV or the eye in the sky really does not deter the professional cheats.

I used to know one such player who made £1000 a week from casino games by stealing chips from other punters as well as tricking the casino staff. That is a pretty damn good weekly income when you consider that it is totally free of tax.

Many punters are very careless about their own chips and one of the main targets for professional cheats are the players who do not bet the same numbers on every spin. A pro looks for situations and crowded casinos late at night are the perfect place. There is an absolute multitude of cheating moves available and there is no limit to human imagination.

There are many cheating moves designed around causing confusion and then getting paid off in that confusion. Moves like throwing call bets at the dealer late in the spin and using numbers that sound like other numbers. One classic move is to use a call bet and say the number seven and then claim that you said eleven.

During the heat of the moment then this move can be executed and unless the casino in question has audio devices over each table then it is hard to spot. Inexperienced croupiers are also targeted and especially in situations where the inspector is also busy watching another game. No member of staff likes to get a superior involved so dealers don’t like to admit that they haven’t heard a bet and often say that they have heard it when they haven’t.

Likewise with inexperienced inspectors, they don’t want to get pit bosses or managers involved because they don’t want them to think that this particular inspector cannot handle basic situations. So even if they think that the punter was wrong, they often concede the payoff anyway. Also you have to remember that the money that is at stake has nothing whatsoever to do with the casino staff.

It is not their money and they are not hurt financially by any payout. This is a massive plus on behalf of any casino cheat. Many of them are well known to casino staff and this also provides them with additional weapons to use. A cheat can get away and will get away with many more moves if they are known to casino personnel. This may seem counterintuitive but it is correct.

All casino staff mentally tighten up when they encounter unknown faces and especially unknown faces that are playing for large amounts of money. This is what many amateur cheats fail to take on board, they totally fail to comprehend how obvious they look to experienced pit personnel who are now on their guard more than ever.

But trust me when I say that a known face could easily make £100 per day either stealing chips from careless punters or making moves on roulette and taking a little at a time. Remember that with payoffs of 35/1 then it only needs one payoff of £5 on the number once a night to make £175 per day. These are amounts of money that get totally lost in the larger picture.
